CP has trouble controlling the muscles of the body. Normally, the brain tells the rest of the body exactly what to do and when to do it. But because CP affects the brain, depending on what part of the brain is affected, it  might not be able to walk, talk, eat, or play the way most people do. CP can have a mild case or a more severe case it really depends on how much of the brain is affected and which parts of the body that section of the brain controls. If both arms and both legs are affected, a kid might need to use a wheelchair. If only the legs are affected, a kid might walk in an unsteady way or have to wear braces or use crutches. If the part of the brain that controls speech is affected, a kid with Wheelchair Pediatric might have trouble talking clearly.

Bariatric Wheelchairs For Young Patients

Bariatric wheelchairs (often referred to as extra wide wheelchairs or heavy duty wheelchairs) are strong enough to accommodate almost any user. Just like lighter, manual chairs, heavy duty models are all foldable and feature armrests and swing-away footrests  but they differ quite a bit in their construction. While Bariatric Wheelchair often employ materials like aluminum or titanium alloy, a bariatric wheelchair is usually fashioned from steel.

Using a Heavy Duty Wheelchair:

  • Heavy duty wheelchairs require more strength to push by the caregiver and by the user, if the chair is self-propelled. In some cases, it may be wise for the caregiver to ask for assistance from another person in order to push the wheelchair safely.
  • Because heavy duty wheelchairs are wider than standard wheelchairs, they require wider doorways and a larger turning radius. They are also heavier to lift into a vehicle and harder to push uphill.

Cerebral palsy is generally caused by developmental issues during pregnancy which lead to abnormal conditions in the brain. During the birth process, lack of oxygen caused by premature delivery or delivery-room errors can cause brain damage that facilitates cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy can also be caused by recognizable brain injuries sustained by the developing child up to an early age after birth. Medical research continues to uncover the many risk factors that may be associated with CP cases. Effective maternal care, ensuring a healthy diet and environment for the mother, is vital for ensuring that preventable cases of Cp Child Wheelchair do not occur.

Children with Cerebral Palsy

Children with Cerebral Palsy require special assistance of mobility devices in order to make it easier to move around and carry out daily tasks. Wheelchairs are often a popular choice for children with mobility issues as they come in different sizes and different accommodations, which makes it easier to find one that fits individual lifestyles and needs.

Cerebral palsy also known as CP is a condition caused by injury to the parts of the brain that control our ability to use our muscles and bodies. Cerebral means having to do with the brain. Palsy means weakness or problems with using the muscles. Often the injury happens before birth, sometimes during delivery, or soon after being born. Physical symptoms typically appear in the first few years of life.

Cerebral Palsy Wheelchair  are frequently slow to reach developmental milestones such as learning to roll over, sit, crawl, smile, or walk. Cerebral Palsy occurs in 1 in every 300 children (Source:  Center for Disease Control).CP can be mild, moderate, or severe. Mild CP may mean a child is clumsy. Moderate CP may mean the child walks with a limp. He or she may need a special leg brace or a cane. More severe CP can affect all parts of a child’s physical abilities.Child with moderate or severe CP may have to use a wheelchair and other special equipment.

Children with CP can also have learning problems, speech, problems with hearing or seeing (called sensory problems), intellectual differences, and behavioral or emotional challenges. Cerebral palsy does not always cause serious disabilities. Usually, the greater the injury to the brain, the more severe the CP. However, CP doesn't get worse over time, and most children with CP have a normal life span.
